Fantastic Performances

Published by Jeff at 2:12 pm under Local, People, The Arts

Bow at SFCM performanceIt feels like centuries have passed since the San Francisco State University Chamber Singers performed “In pace” under the direction of Vance George, even though the performances took place only a couple of weeks ago. Both performances were stellar, and I am still glowing from the experience.

Not only was it a great honor for my piece to be performed by such a wonderful ensemble, directed by a choral superstar, but to be featured on my teacher and mentor’s recital was an intensely meaningful experience for me. Now that I am moving on to the next step in my life (I’m moving away from the Bay Area to pursue a doctoral degree in composition), sharing a concert with David Conte (and Conrad Susa) meant the world to me. It is a moment I will never forget, and cherish forever.

As soon as I make a decision concerning which doctoral program I will enter in the fall, I’ll post it here.

Next up: April 25 performance of The Long Valley with the SF Conservatory Orchestra; Andrew Mogrelia, conductor. Details are in the previous post.

Was great to hear your work. BTW…the ensemble is the San Francisco State Univeristy Chamber Singers.
